The 22nd National Conference on Animal Genetics and Breeding came to a successful conclusion on August 22. On this conference, approximately 2,500 researchers in animal genetic breeding both at home and abroad gathered together to deliver academic reports on the theme of "BT+IT-driven Revitalization of Seed Industry" and perform in-depth discussions on hot topics in the field of animal genetic breeding. 

The Conference was sponsored by Animal Genetics and Breeding Branch of Chinese Association of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine and organized by Shanxi Agricultural University. The Conference was divided into five content segments, namely plenary session, group presentations, topic discussions, poster exhibitions, and product showcases. It showcased the latest advancements and achievements in fundamental research in animal genetics and breeding, exploration of cutting-edge technologies, and the development of the industry.

Yang Ning, the Chairman of the Animal Genetics and Breeding Branch of Chinese Association of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine, delivered the opening remarks, briefly introducing the achievements made in the past two years in the field of breed development, basic research, and applied technology in the livestock and poultry industry, and outlining the organization and specific arrangements for this conference.

At the conference, multiple experts were invited to deliver keynote speeches, including the forum report with pig genetics and breeding, poultry genetics and breeding, genomic selection and statistical genomics, teaching workshop on animal genetics and breeding and sessions on genome assembly and functional analysis; scholars and students from universities and research institutions nationwide gathered at this conference to learn from each other and share in the academic feast.
