Recently, the latest research findings titled "Long noncoding RNA lncMREF promotes myogenic differentiation and muscle regeneration by interacting with the Smarca5/p300 complex" by Professor Zuo Bo and his team from the College of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine at Huazhong Agricultural University was published in the international academic journal Nucleic Acids Research. This study has identified and named a novel muscle regeneration enhancer, lncMREF, in pigs, mice, and humans, which can bind with the chromatin remodeling factor Smarca5, leading to an increase in chromatin accessibility and the enrichment of histone acetyltransferase p300/CBP in regulatory regions of muscle cell differentiation genes. This can, in turn, raise the levels of H3K27ac modification in these regions, ultimately promoting the expression of myogenic differentiation genes and enhancing muscle regeneration capacity. This study has unveiled a spatiotemporal-specific regulatory mechanism mediated by lncRNA during the process of muscle regeneration, providing new theoretical foundations for a deeper understanding of the regulatory network of muscle growth and development.
On the evening of December 27th at 19:30, the first author of this paper, Dr. Lv Wei, a postdoctoral researcher from the College of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine, will be a guest at the G-film Course and present an online lecture on lncMREF Interacts with the Smarca5/p300 Complex to Promote a New Mechanism of Myogenic Differentiation and Muscle Regeneration. Both interested teachers and students are welcomed to join us to discuss the regulatory functions and mechanisms of lncRNA in muscle growth and development! The lecture introduction and registration process are as shown in the following diagram:
